TTX is leveraging its considerable experience with remote asset health research to develop onboard location and condition monitoring solutions. In partnership with strategic technology suppliers, we are equipping our railcar fleets with industry-leading GPS devices and sensor hardware.

We recognize that telematics applications bring tremendous opportunity to the North American rail network, improving in-transit visibility for railroads, railcar owners and shippers. Sensors can be configured to detect and communicate the occurrence of car health-related events, while near real-time shipment location and event reporting provides the information needed to make better planning decisions and optimize railcar utilization.

Fulfilling the promise of advanced telematics requires industry-wide collaboration. TTX is committed to working with stakeholders across the industry in support of this technology under the governance of the Association of American Railroads.
