The TTX Fleet Management Department provides a wide range of services for North American railroads and the transportation industry. In addition to the procurement of new equipment and components for maintenance and modification of the existing fleet, the Supply Management function is also responsible for warehousing and distribution of maintenance components to support TTX fleet maintenance at railroad, contract repair and TTX’s Field Maintenance locations throughout North America. The Marketing function works with railroads, shippers, market contacts and industry data to turn long-term market trends into recommendations for fleet additions and modifications to drive maximum fleet utilization. The Distribution Services function handles day-to-day management of the following three major equipment fleets.
1. Intermodal Equipment carries highway trailers and containers;
2. General Use cars carry a variety of commodities ranging from agricultural equipment to lumber and large dimensional loads; and
3. Autorack Cars, managed by the Reload Group, serve the transportation needs of automobile and other light vehicle manufactures.
